Congrats to our CMS students who participated in the UGA MathCounts Tournament today. The team placed 3rd overall and 3rd in Speed Round math. Bella Tuttle received 2nd place overall in the individual category. Proud of all of our students for representing CMS today!

CMS Spring 2023 Milestones testing starts next week!
Please make every effort to have students arrive at school on time, well-rested, and mentally/emotionally prepared to perform to the best of their ability. We use Milestones data to determine grade level proficiency, demonstrate growth, identify learning gaps, and make placement decisions for the upcoming school year.
Testing will take place from 8:00-11:30 each day.

Congratulations to our CMS Media Specialist, Ms. Carolyn Hutcheson, for being named as a Top 20 Finalist in the Trendsetter Category by Ed Tech Digest. The EdTech Awards recognize, appreciate, and honor the most exceptional innovators, leaders, and trendsetters in education technology. CMS is thankful to have Ms. Hutcheson as a part of our CMS family!




Our 5th grade students have learned so much through the CHAMPS program this year. We would like to thank Officer Frazier for his time and dedication to our CMS students. Our 5th grade students loved him and the CHAMPS program!


We are proud to announce the promotion of Assistant Principal Mandy Lund as our next principal at Commerce Primary and Elementary schools beginning in the 2023-2024 school year! Dr. Cara Lindsey has accepted the position as Federal Programs Coordinator/Curriculum and Instructional Coordinator at our Central Office.
Mrs. Mandy Lund began her teaching career at Commerce Primary School in 2004. She taught 1st grade for 14 years. During this time, she was named CPS Teacher of the Year in 2009 and 2017. Since 2018, Mrs. Lund has served as Assistant Principal at CPS.
Mrs. Lund is originally from Calhoun, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She earned a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia in 2007, a Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College in 2012, and Tier 2 Leadership certification from Kennesaw State University in 2018. Mrs. Lund is married to Coach Matt Lund who teaches at CMS. They have a son, Harrison, who is a Kindergarten student at CPS. Mrs. Lund comes from a family of educators and looks forward to continuing to serve the students, staff and families of our school community. We are excited about the future of CPS and CES under the leadership of Mrs Lund!

We are currently experiencing an issue with our cafeteria point of sale systems where transactions and balances are not updating properly to Infinite Campus and SchoolPay. Our vendor is working as quickly as possible to release a patch to resolve the issue. We appreciate your understanding.

ELA: Madelynn Bryant - Madelynn works diligently in ELA and works well with others in class! She is kind to everyone and eager to help her teacher!
Math: Yza Osias - Yza works hard in class and always stays on task. She is very responsible and is respectful to her teachers and peers.
SS: Bodee Nunn - Bodee has improved tremendously and has worked hard in social studies. He is a kind and respectful young man.
SC: Dash Silva - Dash's work ethic and irrepressible enthusiasm help him and all those around him better engage with science.
ELA Applications: Stefan Turner - Stefan works hard, stays on task, and maintains a respectful attitude 100% of the time.
Math Applications: Spencer Houze - Spencer works very hard on his iReady lessons and assignments in class and asks good questions while he is working.
