Commerce First United Methodist Church is excited to be hosting the Annual Thanksgiving Meal. First Baptist Church of Commerce, Commerce Presbyterian Church and many other community partners have once again joined with them to provide Thanksgiving meals to the community. The meal will include a variety of store bought items as well as a gift card to Quality Foods. If you have any questions please call CFUMC office @ (706) 340-8611 or CMS @ (706) 335-5594. The meals can be delivered or will be available for pickup the week of Nov. 15-17 at your student’s school. You will need to return the form to CMS by Monday, November 6th. We will have two Solar Eclipses this school year!. The first is this Saturday, October 14th - only a partial eclipse here in Georgia in the early afternoon. Any student or adult purchasing a meal this Friday October 13th receives a free approved eclipse-viewing pair of glasses. We will repeat this on Monday April 8th for a much more complete eclipse experience here in Georgia (65-75% coverage of the sun) just after lunch here in Commerce. Again, anyone purchasing a lunch on that Monday will receive a free pair of eclipse-viewing glasses. Those wishing to purchase a pair may do so for $1. Red Ribbon Week will be the week of 10/23-1027! Students are encouraged to participate in dressing up to celebrate this year's theme, "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.."

Commerce Middle School basketball camp in the CHS Aux gym. is Monday 3:30-6
Tryouts are Oct. 11-12 at CHS in the main gym from 3:30-5:30
Wednesday, October 11th is the deadline to turn in picture money and unwanted pictures. Please have your students turn in these items to their homeroom teachers no later than Wednesday of this week.
CMS Basketball Tryouts will be held on October 11th & 12th from 3:30-5:00. Boys will be in the CMS gym and girls will be in the CHS gym. Students must have a current physical (including parent forms) on file in the CMS front office in order to try out.

Tiger football finishes league runner-up as they fall 29-6 in the championship game. Still, and always will be, a Tiger! The future is bright! Congrats to this team and these kids.
