Congrats to this week’s Terrific Tigers! These students were nominated by their teachers for showing the Positivity Project traits- traits focused on students of strong character, integrity, and caring for each other. We will recognize a group of students each week for P2 Traits and all students are eligible. Display those character traits and the next winner might be you!

May 3rd is the last day to pay any existing balances for the cafeteria. Any students that have a balance past this date will receive an alternative meal. In addition, students with a balance will not be allowed to attend the Funopolis reward trip. Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter!

Friday, May 3rd, will be the final day of this school year for which meals may be charged without a positive account balance to support the charged amount.
This is necessary to enable our Cafeteria Managers to assess their list of owed balances, notify households and close out the school year with zero negative balances.
Beginning Monday May 6th students will not be able to purchase meals without payment or an account balance to support the charge. Please put sufficient money on your child’s account or send payment with them for the purchase of meals. Positive balances on the final day rollover to the next school year OR you may request a refund by e-mail or in writing to the School Nutrition Director. Positive balances for graduating seniors or students leaving the district can also be donated to our Angel Fund. The Angel Fund consists of community donated funds and is used to help families needing assistance paying their child’s school meal account.

See the attached flyer for upcoming Lady Tiger Basketball camps!

Parents: progress reports are being sent home with students today. Please sign and return.

As part of our status as a Charter District with the State of Georgia, Commerce Middle School is required to hold School Governance Team meetings multiple times a year. This Governance Team consists of community stakeholders, parents, teachers, and the principal. This oversight committee ensures that Charter Funds are spent on student achievement. We held our 5th meeting of the year this morning. You can find the agenda and minutes at the link below.

CMS Baseball Diamond Tigers played well in the championship game but came up short 4-1. Team finishes PAC IX runner-up. Not the outcome we wanted but proud of our boys. Go Tigers!

Go Tigers!

Parents: with spring approaching I plan to address our students this morning with a reminder about our dress code. I am noticing a lot of questionable clothing and need your help in policing our kids. For our males: please have them wear a belt that keeps their pants at waist level. For our females: please make sure their shorts are not revealing and an appropriate length. Tops need to be covering all pertinent areas fully. Thank you for your assistance!

#1 Seed Diamond Tigers advance with a 14-5 victory over the leopards of Banks County. They play Thursday for the championship! Go Tigers!
